About Us

St Bede’s School is the longest continuously running Catholic school in our Archdiocese. Established in 1859, there is a long established history of providing Catholic education for young people in the Braidwood district. For 97 years the Sisters of the Good Samaritan led and taught the children attending St Bede’s School and today their proud tradition continues through the provision of contemporary, student-centred teaching and learning programs. We currently have six classes, educating students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

St Bede’s School is an integral part of St Bede’s Parish, which is administered by Fr Troy Bobbin. We are fortunate to have the presence of Fr Peter Day as our Associate Priest and Br Brian Berg as Pastoral Associate, both of whom contribute to ensuring a close and happy connection exists between the parish and school. Together we build and celebrate together the community that is St Bede’s, Braidwood.

The school's Mission Statement is 'A School with Heart' where we are inspiring, challenging and nurturing one another to....Live from the Heart, Love from the Heart and Learn from the Heart.

The school leadership team includes Mr Julian Laffan (Assistant Principal) and Mrs Ann Monkhouse (Religious Education Coordinator). Together with the teaching staff and administrative and classroom support staff we strive to provide best educational practice within the Catholic tradition for every child who attends St Bede’s School.

We warmly welcome you to our community. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Mrs Trish Ferlitsch
