Principals Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, thank you for your understanding regarding our decision to postpone Grandparents and Special Friends Day (and Book Fair), which was scheduled for Friday. With so many students unwell, we did not want to risk passing on illness to our special visitors. For the same reason, the Sacrament of First Eucharist, which was planned for Saturday, has also been postponed. Both events will now take place in Term 4 and we will advise you of the new dates as soon as they are confirmed. We hope everyone is feeling better very soon!
2026 Classes
I am pleased to share that Catholic Education has approved 7 classes for next year. This means we will have straight Year 5 and Year 6 classes instead of the current multi-age setup. We are currently advertising for a classroom teacher to join our team; please spread the word to anyone you know who may be interested in becoming part of our wonderful St Bede’s community.
Learning Journeys
Families are warmly invited to visit classrooms next Wednesday for our Learning Journeys. Drop in any time between 2:00–4:30pm to celebrate your child’s learning, view work samples, and hear them explain their goals and progress. We look forward to seeing you!
Sensory Garden
As part of the Braidwood Community Bank Community Grants Program and the Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Council’s Youth Engagement Series, our Kinder to Year 3 students enjoyed a hands-on workshop with Erin and Helen from Landcare on Tuesday. They learned about the important role native plants play in our environment and were excited to plant their own seedlings, which they will now nurture at home.

We look forward to beginning our Sensory Garden at a Working Bee this Saturday. A huge thank you to Clare Young for leading this project and to her wonderful team of helpers who will be rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty.
School Blazers
We are very grateful to the Community Council for purchasing a set of school blazers for students to wear when representing St Bede’s at Open Days and extra-curricular events. I am sure you will agree, they look very smart!
Father’s Day
Last Friday we were joined by many fathers, grandfathers, and fatherly figures for our annual Father’s Day Breakfast. It was a wonderful morning of community, good company and delicious bacon and egg rolls. A big thank you to Miss Cooper for coordinating the event and to all staff for their early morning efforts. Our thanks also go to the Community Council for organising the Father’s Day Stall, which is always a highlight for students as they carefully select a gift for their loved ones.

Marylou’s Papal Audience
Yesterday, Marylou attended a Papal Audience with Pope Leo in St Peter’s Square. A Papal Audience is a weekly event where the Pope addresses a large crowd of visitors. Marylou and her travelling companions were delighted when the Pope Mobile drove right past them, giving them a close view of Pope Leo. Later in the day, they climbed the 321 steps to the top of St Peter’s Basilica, visited the Papal tombs and were lucky enough to enter the Holy Doors which are special entrances within Catholic basilicas that are sealed and opened only during a Jubilee Year.

Here's to another week of living, loving and learning!
Kind regards,
Principal (Acting)
