Dear Parents and Carers
Our students have settled well into their learning and school routines for this term. Thank you to all our families for your support and positive response to the changes which occurred last week, with very little notice. We are so grateful for your commitment to work through the various restrictions and requirements with us, knowing that we will more than likely, see more changes in the weeks ahead.
St Bede’s is in the process of preparing a contingency plan in the case we are required to move to remote learning due to the COVID-19 virus. Hopefully, this won’t occur but to assist us to support all our students and families, it is essential that we are well prepared. A note was sent home to all families on Tuesday to ascertain the capacity for each family to provide remote learning at home. Thank you to all our families who have returned the note. If you haven’t, please assist us by completing the survey and return all notes by this Friday.
Current COVID-19 Requirements for CECG New South Wales Schools
- Covid19 testing remains the same as previously advised with staff and students to be tested if displaying symptoms and only attend/return to school when symptom free and medical clearance is no longer required. Medical clearance needs to be provided to the school upon return. If your child is unwell, please do not send them to school. For further information, please follow NSW Health advice.
- Remain outside of school grounds where practical (some exceptions may apply for families of students with additional needs or very young children).
- Use the school’s mandatory QR code when entering the school. Please also remember to sign in following the standard visitor process and follow mask wearing requirements.
Parents and carers please read the newsletter each week and check FaceBook for updates as requirements can change rapidly. If your contact details have changed, please ensure you contact the front office and update your details.
Our Year 3 and Year 4 students have commenced their preparation for their First Eucharist. We are extremely grateful to Br Brian for preparing the children and Miss Kaptein for her assistance. Please keep these students in your prayers over the next few weeks.
Please continue to keep in your prayers all those communities that have been adversely affected by this recent COVID outbreak. We pray that all in our Braidwood community stay safe and well.
God bless
Marylou Gorham
Prayer
Blessing on a Long Life
God of mercy,
You have given your children the gift of long life,
And they ask for your blessing.
Let them feel the tenderness and strength of your presence.
As they look back to the past,
Let them rejoice in your mercy.
As they look to the future,
May they persevere in hope that does not fade.
Amen
This Sunday, has been designated as the first World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly by Pope Francis. This will coincide with the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, Jesus’ grandparents. Unfortunately, COVID restrictions will prevent us for celebrating Grandparents Day at school the way we would like. However, we still want to acknowledge all the Grandparents and those who are like Grandparents in our community. You hold a special place in our hearts, and we greatly value the wisdom and love you share with your family and those around you. Pope Francis has written a special message which we have attached to the newsletter.
Sacrament of First Eucharist - Save the date
This year, children in Year 3 & 4 who have made their First Reconciliation (or are making this Sacrament this term) are eligible for the Sacrament of First Eucharist. There will be a special mass for the children and their families at 10:30 am on Sunday 15 August 2021 at St Bede’s Church, which is the Feast of the Assumption. To help prepare the students for this Sacrament, they will have four sessions with Brother Brian during the school day. We thank Brother Brian for his guidance and support during this special time.
